GAMEBIRD CLUB
RULES AND REGULATIONS

The season opening day will be September 1 and closing day will be May 31.

Listed below are rules and procedures to ensure safe hunting and smooth operation of the club.

1)   Reservations—You must call 24 hours in advance: (707) 733-5613 or (707) 498-6348 (cell). This helps us to schedule time to catch the birds for the day and to make sure you will have a reserved spot to hunt. Keep birds dry.
2)   Leaving a Message—When leaving a message, please leave your name, the day you want to hunt, the time you want to hunt (a.m. or p.m.) and the number of birds you would like to have released. All releases will be even (4, 6, 8, etc.). All releases will be a minimum of 4 birds. Members who split memberships must leave primary member’s name along with their name when leaving a message.
3)   Club Hours—Birds will be released by request, every day of the week, including holidays.
4)   All members and guests are required, and must wear, an article of blaze orange in field (hat, vest, shirt), whether they are hunting or not. We recommend that hunters and guests wear a blaze orange hat and a vest.
5)   Signing in and out—All members and guests are required to sign in and out at all times. PLEASE PRINT LEGIBLY. You must also sign in and out if you did not call and request birds to be released, and if there were no birds bagged during your hunt. When members bring guests, all birds will be recorded under the member’s name.
6)   Release of Liability—good for season—All members and guests, whether hunting or not, must have a signed release of liability on file before entering field.
7)

Membership Splits—The club allows members to split memberships under these conditions:

    A.   One member will be designated as the primary cardholder.
    B.   When making reservations, the primary member’s name must be used.
    C.   The club will keep track of the number of birds released and bagged only under the primary member’s name.
    D.   The members who split must communicate with the primary member to keep track of individual bird count. Membership splits may only have one reservation per hunting period.
8)   Safety First—All minor children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Do not leave children unattended in vehicle or at clubhouse while hunting. We want everyone to stay safe.
9)   Bird Releases—All birds are to be released according to what was bought.
    A.

There will be no extra birds released when the number purchased is used up. Example: 20 pheasants purchased = 20 pheasants released.

    B.   When a member uses up all of his/her birds, hunting for the remaining birds needed to fill the card will be allowed without a plant.
10)   Tagging Birds—All birds that are shot on the club must be tagged with a California Fish and Game seal. Tags are available at the clubhouse. Please do not leave before all birds are tagged and counted.
11)   Shooting birds that are not prepaid—Shooting of any bird that is not prepaid by a hunter must be purchased when you sign out. FAILURE TO CHECK IN BIRDS WILL BE CONSIDERED STEALING AND WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND/OR HUNTING PRIVILEGES.
12)   All hunters must have a valid California hunting license affixed with an Upland Game Bird stamp.
13)   Pheasant Limit—There is no limit of the number of pheasants bagged per day.
14)   Preserving Cover—Please do not destroy the cover in fields. This makes it difficult to release birds and ultimately results in not being able to plant birds.
15)   Rainy Day Procedure—All birds will be released and charged to the member’s card if the member has not rescheduled by 7 a.m. the morning of the reservation.
16)   Cancellation of Hunts—Please call no later than 7 a.m. for morning hunts and 10 a.m. for evening hunts. Members that are “no-shows” will be charged for the birds planted.
17)   Card Holders—The club will not carry over birds to the following season.
18)   Alcohol and Gunpowder Do Not Mix—Be smart and consider your fellow hunters. No individual under the influence of an alcoholic beverage or a drug will be permitted to hunt on the premises.
19)   Birds shall not be dressed in the field.
